EQ6 - Designing Quilts on the Computer "Ain't Technology Grand?" This program looks at the incredibly powerful quilt designing software, EQ6 by the Electric Quilt Co. A Powerpoint lecture explores the many things this software program can do, and the ways it can assist quilters (with little or no computer experience) to design quilt, quilt blocks, explore fabric and setting ideas, and create instructions for making original quilts. A virtual trunk show is included in the presentaiton along with a number of actual quilts designed on EQ6. A half day or full day workshop is also available. The Hexagon & Beyond: Not Just Your Grandmother's Flower Garden! This program looks at the history of the hexagon shape in quilts, its incredible variety, and the versatility of this wonderful traditional pattern. A trunk show of Reeze's large collection of of historical and contemporary hexagon and grandmother's flower garden quils will never have you looking at this pattern in quite the same way again. Handouts and patterns are provided along with a list of resources for quilters who would like to reporduce some of these vintage quilts using today's fast and easy techniques and materials. Color Confidence for Quilters: Trust Your Hunches! "I'm just not good with color" is a common refrain heard in guilds and quilt shops. But with a little color confidence any quilter can become a color whiz. This program explores basic color theory from the quilter's perspective aand shows how to develop color confidence drawing on your own instincts, intuition, and preferences. The program includes a virtual quilt show & Power Point presentation along with a trunk show of quilts illustrating basic color concepts. It is a fun and interactive program. A half day workshop is also available. You Said WHAT????? Competent Communication for Quilting Professionals, Guild Leaders, Shop Owners, Teachers and Anyone else who Communicates about Quilting. This top 10 list of communication do's and ooo's will provide strategies to improve your relationships with quilters, clients, teachers, students, shop owner, and customers. Combining your knowledge and skill as a quilter and a few good communication strategies can make all the difference in how effective your guild, shop, or class can run. Reeze draws on her 30 years as a college Speech Professor as well as her years as a quilter and teacher to provide an hour of sound advice in "how to get along" Audience members are invited to share their experiences and advice as well.
